Here is a video on how to remove the ignition switch assembly.

Fatboy heated grip install successful. Installed cruise control at the same time.

Seems like 69201750 is just splitting 2 wires (positive and ground) into 4.
Unless this 69201750 is doing something special that I don't know (maybe somebody can hip me to it) seems like I could have just spliced the same 2 wires myself (I have a garage full of different connectors can could have made up something myself).
All in all the install wasn't too bad except for 69201750 was nowhere to be found since Harley isn't shipping stuff for 2 weeks. With some phone calls (who does that) finally found one local (their last one).

I did enjoy taking the USB box apart and seeing all what was in there along with all the wires out of the front rubber holder thingy. I like getting to know my bikes since I do all my works (ok, except putting on tires - I did that for the last time a few years ago).

nice work! I was wondering the same thing about 69201750. I think they got me for $14.99 lol. However I didn’t want to risk the installation without having all the parts on hand and by the time I realized it I had the usb box reinstalled.

I wanted to add cruise control as well but $250 seemed a bit steep for my blood. With the 3.6 gallon tank we have I have to stop every 150 miles anyway. I think the cruise control is way over priced for what Harley gives you. However it is a nice to have. Did the dealer do the flash for you to activate it?

Tips:
- De-pin the cables before you try to feed them

- Remove the gas tank. It's not that hard and saves a lot of aggravation
- Be prepared to look stuff up because the directions suck :-)
Did you need the 69201750 harness?

No. For the 2020 Road Glide (and I'm assuming the 2019), using that specific set of heated grips, the harness is not needed. I got it anyway from the dealer, then returned it when it was not needed.

Sorry, I meant specifically for the Sport Glide.

I used the harness when I installed my heated grips on my '19 fatboy. I'm not sure if it does anything else but tap into existing power and give you a nice connector for it.

I didn’t “need” it but I used it. It gives you a line you can use to connect to the PM60 to tell if the ignition is on. Then I have my grips going to the PM60.

So after some research, I found that the additional harness was not necessary on my sport glide.

I partially removed the tank, and removed the usb box under the neck. Used the extra jumper piece that came with the heated grip kit to tap into the accessory circuit (red/yellow and black) to make my own connection. Fished the wires through the bars...easy peasy...done.

Trying to avoid adding a PDM60 or other electronic control box. Not sure how long that will last but so far so good. This bike does have a lot of 'spare' wires with switched power, but of course you don't get the electronic circuit "breaker" reset or timed on & off delay calibration.

Adding heated grips really shouldn't be this difficult and frankly should be included for a touring bike. Paid for videos that not only didn't help but made it even more confusing. If you have a 2019-2020 Road or Street Glide, it's not that difficult as the connect points are already wired. You just need to find them.
