My scoot is a 2019 but I would assume all the M8's have the same input shaft. Have not tried to calculate out what the 31/70 will provide as far as a final drive ratio. Certainly its a bump in the right direction. The only other somewhat reasonable option I know of is to convert to a chain. There is also a chain that goes from the engine to transmission but I have not looked into that.

On the pulley if you can find a used 68 from a Sportster that could be a good budget choice as to buying a new pulley. Pretty bummed about no 30 T. Be cool if someone could machine a batch of adapters to fit a 30. But I don't really have any idea about the practicality strength longevity of welding some type of adapter to a cast pulley.

Not sure what is going on. The pulley fits to the output shaft, not the input. Both the trike and the softail have the same output shaft p/n 35122-06A. Also, the input shafts are the same: 35467-06C

I'm not sure what is missing / wrong here but I would be/am glad to find out a 30 will work. I'll get back to the dealership and figure out what is up. Guys been wrenching Harley's for many years and is a well established dyno tuner and does their Harley race motor work.

Maybe he got the wrong actual part by accident and it was mistaken for that number?

Here is a pic of the prior softail 32T sprocket 40659-06, the new Softail 32T sprocket 35000152, and the newest 30T Trike sprocket 83595-11. Zoom/scale them to match the span across the bolt holes (I used 3 5/16"). Then measure the spline diameter along the same line. They all have 30T splines and they all measure the same. Again, I can't find the problem you're having.

There are older 30T sportster sprockets that won't work.

From Baker Drivetrain: "Optional Cruise Drive Pulleys: Along with the launch of the Cruise Drive transmission on the 2006 Dyna models, the factory started using bigger diameter splines on the output gear. This change made us tool up 2 new pulleys to meet the tuning needs of our performance minded customers. Pulleys are available in 31 and 30 tooth configurations. PN 30T-07 (30 tooth), 31T-07 (31 tooth)"

Hulkss that link is for the TC's. Do the pulleys also fit the M8 Softies ? Offset? I hope they do as I'll grab the 68T Sporty pulley.

Peace.
