I was advised to use new tappets on any new cam install as well with the M8.
Great new performance tappets aren't exactly all that expensive overall, so might as well, since the camchest is open.
Better safe then sorry.

Yes with roller lifters, especially if the lifters are OEM.

Just to update - Last week the new performance SE lifters arrived. I installed the lifters at the dealership and they gave it slightly more than 2.5 turns. The bike was serviced with Syn 3 oil. I rode the bike back without any ticking sound. I then did a tune session with the SEPST and now she runs and how. What a change. I further did not start the bike for 2 days and started her on the 3rd day. Absolutely no problem. Finally I hope that annoying ticking stands resolved. The dealership also gave me a discount since I was the one who suggested to change the lifters whereas all the while they had been saying that the sound was normal. Also my Thanks to all of You who gave me the inputs.
