Curious. In some pictures I see the mending plate on the outside and others on the inside. Wondering which placement is better. Thanks

Just a personal preference
still not sure which side looks better but I do not have buffeting on either side obviously
much more pleasant ride once I made this mod

Sorry to bother yet again, but on the 19 fatbob with the 19" HD windshield, I'm running into a bit of a problem. With the 2" mending plate, if I go thru with the installation, the middle of the windshield bumps against the brake reservoir next to the brake lever (red circle in attached image)

Did you run into the same issue? If so, what was the workaround?

It’s a shame there’s no $3. fix for the Heritage. The driving lights look to be in the way unless there’s a way around them.

Ohh I could fix it, it would involve a 7.62x39 and then a call to my insurance company. I am just kidding I am not old enough to buy a Heritage.

I was all excited about this thread until I looked at my Heritage and saw the same thing.... but I'm wondering now if I can do the TOP mounts backwards slightly instead of the bottom ones forward. A 2" plate will hit the tank at full lock, but maybe a tad shorter? I think a trip to the hardware store is on the agenda for this rainy Sunday.
