I need an experienced mechanic to tell me how stupid this idea is: I have a 2020 LRS and I put on a high flow pipe - V&H Pro Pipe and a high intake breather the HD Ventilator Extreme. So the intake and exhaust are without a doubt sucking in more than enough air and pushing out all of the exhaust.

Now my question: Would an upgraded throttle body do anything by allowing more fuel? It seems like the Ventilator extreme is underutilized; I can hear the air getting sucked in; or is it doing just what it needs to do and a throttle body is only for large kits like the 131 or 117 or whatever?

With what you already have on a 114 I would leave the TB and injectors alone, change the intake manifold and install cam of your choice.

I'll 2nd that. Larger TB & injectors are for stage 4 cam type breathing / fuel requirements or displacements 117 plus.

The bottleneck for air flow is happening at the valves. If you cylinder head flow both in and out, and matched with the right cam, you could bolt up a TB and intake as big as the lincoln tunnel, along with an elevator shaft sized exhaust and its still only going to flow that the head and cam allows.

If you want more fuel, you need a tuner to optimize the flow you've got. You've already done 2/3 of a Stage 1 upgrade, the tuner is the last piece.

And yeah, a cam is what will give you a big, big boost in power.

I forgot to mention I do have the V&H tuner and flashed it to the exhaust.

Then find a good aftermarket cam for your stock springs. IE stage 2 except that since you already have an aftermarket tuner no reason to use a MOCO EPA compliant cam. Unless you are ready to go deeper into the motor to upgrade the springs. If so then you have more cam options for even more power. After that is stage 3 which is a whole different ball of wax.

Yes, for sure what you need next is a cam.
