Got the risers almost done today.
Probably have 6 - 6.5 hours with paint. So if I could have found exactly what I wanted for 4-500 bucks I would have bought.
Made them a 1/2" long and the riser bushing is adding a 1/4'. Will lop off 3/8" and call it good.
Rode around the hood' with them and they will be a huge improvement.
Kinda cool how you can leave the stock bars on and play with the riser bars.
I don't like that style. No offense. I bet it is much more comfortable.
I want to keep the low and long profile.
What did you do with you forward controls?
Changed the entire forward controls moving them forward and up 3 1/2 inches direct bolt on just had the dealer bleed the brakes ,there from a HD Dealer in Germany called Thunder Bike they have done a couple custom FXDRs and sell all the parts ,im in the states.
The shift peg and brake have a 6 position ajustable angle to them.
The bars were more for comfort than looks also just depends on the angle you see them at.

That's really cool to be able to do your own coustom work a one off , look forward to pics of them completed have you considered how you will run the wiring .
From my experience the two holes in the tripple tree could be remmed out to take the small lip they have off and then feeding the wiring would be much smoother , I realized this after struggling to get the wires through considering changing my bars again and in hindsight I'll do this.

Hopefully you find a good ergo solution. Keep posting those awesome pictures you're always taking.
Ha ha. I knew I should have got the Sport Glide when I went in for the FXDR. It just fits me better and is set up perfect for the rides I do. I love the looks of the FXDR though.
One thing I haven't considered is the reach seat Harley offers. It moves you closer to the bars. Plus it looks good.
No more Yoda ears!
This is gonna be SOO much better.
Supposed to be high 50's Saturday!!
Clutch and brake are fine. Will have to use the wiring extension to get the wires through the bars and behind the risers.
Drilled/taped 2 1/4" holes in the back of each riser for"christmas tree" (zip-tie holders) or Fairing.
Have a couple windscreens laying around I will play with before building a front fairing.
