Default FXDR handlebars?

If I could change one thing about my FXDR it would be the hand position. It is slightly too far forward and too low.

Anybody have a solution to bring the bars up and back maybe an inch?

Can't believe somebody that does metal casting doesn't make a simple bolt on extender to take the clip on tubes and move them up and back an inch.

The bike would have such better ergos. It would take a few minutes to install and keep the low clean look of the clip ons.

Amazed somebody has not done this. I'd easily pay $150 for two pieces of matte black aluminum threaded for the stock handlebar tubes.

Why Harley does not make this product, I'm dumbfounded.

Or just make a set of reach clip ons that come back and up and extra I'm or so.

Aftermarket Harley drag bars are too high IMO and ruinnthe low profile look.

Rizoma makes risers and a drag bar but studying pics makes me think they may be even further forward than the Harley hand position.

Anybody?

Talk to the guy at CJ Motorsports. I bet they may be willing to make something like that. They made Fat Bob riser extensions for a third of the price of the only competition at the time.

Funny!
I just posted in the "what did you do"?

I WAS going to make some quick "extensions" like you describe. Actually started milling/drilling on my last day off.

To make them not look TOO cobbled, I would have recessed where they bolt on, (top and bottom) so they didn't add the 3/4" width.
My 1 1/8" end mill is really dull and just melts the AL.
Also, the right side hase to have room for the brake hose.
I tried to "reverse" them and it would have worked for a little more pullback.

So, to make some "quick" extensions. The right side would have to have an angle in the part. (unless you could change the Banjo bolt"?

Just find some T-bars, or other bar/riser combo you like!

Will radius the outside edges, chamfer the "lightening holes"

Was going to get some thicker material and do some fancy stuff but I just want to get it done. Will just shoot it black.
Then I can always make another one if needed. The new fairing will cover most of it.

I was thinking a J-shape to clear the banjo bolt/hose.

Have an offset on the bottom where it threads in to clip on and sink the bolt hole on the top like Harley did on the original bolt holes.

They also make some 10 degree bushings. Not sure which part # would fit?
Hard enough to get the right one the first time for this model.

Arlen Ness 08-029 off Amazon. paid 22 bucks, and came in one day. They fit!

Some 5-6" Fatbob risers/bars. Have just a little offset. The 1.5" bars look slick to me.

And tilted back that 10 degrees??? The Deuce risers are 6" with a 2.5" pull back and felt really good with the Drag bar.
Even better with the Buell (flat track style?) bar.
Don't like the look of curved risers AND bars with rise. Drag bars? Cool.

I would also warn you need at least 2- 2 1/4" pull back if you want to see your gauge without re-locating it.

I've been looking for a low rise pullback bar risers and a drag bar. Found a $50 3 1/2" riser set in black online. Not sure it would come back far enough and high enough to clear the tank. Still trying to be able to see gauges, like you say.

Can't believe Harley does not make a nice black pull back riser that isn't sky scraper tall. Their offset risers of shorter variety only available in chrome.
