I agree. I like the classic bar and shield as well, which is what I did recently to my RKS
IMO thats all they should put on them. Let the other stuff be an option or accessory. I really like the old school scroll on the new lrs too. I think I'm going to go with the solid black.

what was your workflow on putting new ones on straight?
I had these planned before I removed my existing medallions. I used painters tape to mark a level line using the factory medallion as "Level". I did this prior to removing the factory ones. I then used painters tape to mark the top contact points of the bar and shield. As the new bar and shield medallions match the curve of the tank, I knew until I removed the existing medallions, I wouldn't be able to exactly match up the curve until I was able to place the new ones against the tank. It took a little trail and error.
I also looked online at baggers that had that style badge so I had a pretty good idea where they should go.
I did about 5 trials using a piece of tape to temporarily hold it in place while I waked back to look at,it from a distance. Once I got it right, I simply used a piece of string to measure from the forward tank bolt to ensure they both are the in the same position, front to back, and pretty much done.
I used 3M adhesive remover and this wheel to remove the residue from the other medallions. Took them right off without a mark on my paint...
I am between these two from a local guy that makes them. The america ones are pretty flipping cool, the stars and stripes are laser etched off. Everything i have on the bike is Contrast cut, I could also do straight gloss black to.
