'20 Heritage Classic 114 with 2,372 miles - Just got back from a short ride. Got off the bike and noticed fluid all over the right side of the bike. Do I have a blown fork seal?
NOT corrosive. But make sure they look at the brake pads, if it got on them they owe a new set.
Copy that. Thanks.
Yeah, so I washed the bike after just having washed and waxed it a few days ago. Called the dealer. Part not in stock and will have to be ordered. No telling how long that's going to take.
FWIW, I have never hit a pothole or anything that would bottom out the shock. Just your normal bumps. I have a dip at the end of my driveway where the street is, but I'm never going over 10 MPH. SMH that this happened, but I guess it could always be worse.
Not sure if your problem is same as what happened to my bike, but years ago I had same problem on my new then 2010 Fatboy. Fork oil blew back all over side of the bike, same as your pics maybe not as bad.
Turned out it was not a blown seal , dealer said forks were probably over filled and when it heated up it oozed out . It only happened when I was riding in summer temps and after a few times it just stopped, never leaked again. They did tighten up the top fork nuts.
Not sure if this is the issue with your bike or my HD service dept just didn’t know what they were talking about but it did stop and I never changed out the seals .
At least you found your problem quickly. When I blew a fork seal the oil showed up all over the motor, making me think I had a leak in the cam cover. It took me days, several cleanings and dumb luck to trace it back to the right fork.
