When I got my brand new SG2021 the left front turn signal didn't work. I also had a low leak from the oil filter gasket. The turn signal was wired backwards and the oil filter was way over tightened. The bike had 30 miles on it (probably some demo riding). Thankfully I didn't buy the bike from the dealer that had it in stock and apparently they didn't check diddly squat when they set the bike up. The dealer I purchased it from fixed it with warranty funds and no questions asked. Your problem may be in the hand control... they are just a circuit board with a switch connected to the board. Plenty of potential for moisture problems.

That's the same code mine had but it was bad wiring... so it could be many things but not necessarily the battery or the BCM... that's why I noted that a very vulnerable feature in HD's has been water getting into to the hand controls... in the past I replaced the board and filled the control with electric grease... still working without incident on my RK but the grease melts in high heat.
