Hey guys am I reading this chart right or not? I way probably closed 190 to 195. Its telling me the suspension setting preload should be zero. 2020 street Bob Ive been running at three and I thought god this thing is hard compared to my old 2004 street glide. Supposedly the shop set it up that way and said the three would probably be the right setting. Problem is it doesnt have a zero it goes from 1 to 7. So Im thinking maybe I should try it out at one. What are your guys his suspension set ups And bikes particularly the street Bob or something close to that.?
Owners manual for 2020 Softail page 52 looks like you could go #1 or #2. There is no zero listed in my book.
Omg I was looking at the fat Bob, its been a long day. Went out and clean the bike and its starting to drive me a little crazy. Theres so many different textures on that bike the black the aluminum the chrome I dont even know where to begin half the time. And then trying to get all the water off it. But thanks so much for the reply.
I run my FLHCS at "2". I've added a bit of weight with options (TourPak, JES fangs), but I only weigh 160 without boots, leathers, etc. Rides fine and I don't have to mess with it when I load up for a road trip, either.
FXBB and I'm 240ish , I run more oil in the front and am at 4 when the manual says 3 for me, this keeps the bike higher in the stroke for more ground clearance mid corner.
It does blow straight through the stroke on a square edged/pot hole but it was doing that anyway. Also running 34/35 in the front tire.
It's preload. The spring doesn't look to be progressive, so it only changes ride height, not ride quality, unless you have been bottoming out. New shock needed to improve ride quality, esp. one that has dampening adjustment.

interesting. Theres a guy that has a blog and didnt realize he was on a higher number. He changed it and said the ride difference was drastically different.
