Wondering whats the best exhaust 2 into 2 for upgrades including cam? I'm thinking V & H short shots? not concerned about emissions. Fat Boy114
Short pipes aren't doing the M8 any favors this generation. Paraphrasing here, Fuelmoto and Kevin Baxter are both sorta reiterating the point that the M8 is liking longer exhaust, than shorter ones. Kevin mentioned in his new cam video that the stock exhaust choices are doing fairly well for power with the M8.
Thanks for that, so more than likely slip ons are fine? V & H eliminator 300 is what my shops recommending and i like the look and sound. I was just concerned the step down on the factory header was going to be too restrictive.

I cant say for sure, im no expert, but It seems longer pipes are better for the M8, and if you dont want to use a 2 into 1, some slip ons with some reversion control may be the best option.
Short shots were what I wanted to get at one point. But you can't argue with dyno results; the M8 literally loses power with short 2into2 systems. Inserts such as Thunder Torque or lollipops can help return some of the lost torque, but they may only bring it back to factory-mufflers level power. For that real Stage 1 effect, any full length 2into1 will give best results. S&S SuperStreet, Thunderheader X-Series, Rinehart are all good choices.

Cobra's powerport 2 into 1 into 2s should be just as good as well. The Speedster 909s, and Speedster Slashdowns both have crosspower ports and behave like a 2 into 1.
But yeah any shorty pipe that doesn't have a crossover scavenge should be avoided for the M8s.
Thanks guys, i went with the eliminator 300s and ordering the S&S 475c cam kit, my buddy used the same setup and it ran 110 wheel hp on the dyno so i figure that's good all round power as the torque curve and power range is more suited to my riding.
V&H need to take those short shots into a 2 into 1 with a turn out much like the SuperTrapp did.
Supertrapp do a Fatshot 2-1, but curiously never seen on used on a softail yet or any dyno charts, thought might be a bit more popular as adjustable back pressure?
