Default Touring Vs. Softail

Does anyone know what differences there are between the 49mm forks on the Touring platform and the 49mm forks on our softails?
I've come across a set of take-offs from a Ultra Limited and wondering if this would be a good way to go about a dual disc conversion.
My bike is an FXBB so my wheel already has provision for a second rotor, just need to get another caliper on there somehow.
Also fender mounts are different, that isn't a concern, I'm also going to a 21" rim so I need to change the fender anyway.
Mainly just want to know if there's any reason why it won't work or if these would be a downgrade handling wise or any other issues I may run into?
I have full parts diagrams below but they don't have dimensions, are the touring forks shorter/longer etc?

If you have ABS it will not work optimally if you double the mechanical gain of the front brakes.

I do have ABS. Can you explain why (dumb it down for me as much as you can). I was planning on changing the master out also if that makes a difference.

The control software in the ABS computer module is calibrated for the brake system on the motorcycle. It changes brake hydraulic pressure to control a skid. If you radically change the brakes (like doubling the braking capacity) the control gains will be incorrect and the system will not make proper corrections as it attempts to stop the bike at the limit of tire grip. The ABS will probably still work to some degree. It does nothing until you lose grip and start to skid. You won't notice a problem until you really need the ABS to save your butt in slippery conditions.
