I was wondering if this motor would fit. Seems like it might be a better investment than a big bore kit, intake, cams, etc., plus labor, especially after selling your good used motor.
But I also wonder how the transmission would hold up to this much torque.

If you use the H-D motor and tune, I believe you will be OK. H-D will have some form of torque limiting built into the tune. Don't worry, there will still be plenty of torque to have fun and not break your drive train.
I would use the H-D Smart Tune Pro with the wide band O2 sensors. Works great on my stage 2 bike.
Interesting subject, warranty or not is the question.
If not, this site caught my attention as others have.

According to the HD.com website,
"Engine features one-year manufacturers warranty for unmatched confidence
Eligible for coverage under factory vehicle warranty when dealer-installed within 60 days of vehicle purchase"
So, it appears to have a limited 1 year manufacturer warranty coverage on the motor but it can be rolled into factory warranty coverage but the dealer must install it in a new motorcycle (60 day cut off period from purchase) in this second case.

I also suspect you'd need to use one of the Harley tuners with a Harley tune to get the warranty. Add another grand, but might be worth it for the peace of mind.
