Default Sticky Throttle

Do any of you find that the throttle is a little sticky? I think "stiction" is the correct word.

Only time it's noticeable is when making very fine throttle adjustments. I haven't taken the control apart yet to see how it's built to determine if it can be effectively lubed.

Insights appreciated....

No stiction at all here. There should be some axial end play if the controls are positioned correctly.

Thanks Hulk. There is some end play so it's not sticking due to a lack thereof. I'll take it apart sometime to have a look.

Yeah, there should be no stiction.

Stickiness could be either with your grip/tube on the bar or in the switch housing. My handgrip is borderline rattly - easily rotates slightly fore/aft, and even some small linear movement along the bar tube.

I insist on minum play at the throttle.
Throtle by wire today, not our old HD's.
My first thought something else other than the housing?

It's not that there was any "play" at the throttle like there can be with a cable operated throttle. It's more about overcoming the initial resistance in the movement. The hand grip itself has plenty of jiggle to it, end play was probably about 1/8". So it's not that it's too "tight" anywhere.

As it turns out most of the stiction appears to be in the largely plastic electronic throttle assembly/mechanism at the end of the bar. Can't remove the assembly without disconnecting the wires, but some judiciously applied shots of silicone lube seems to have helped, and a very thin coat of high temp caliper grease on the bar itself for the grip to ride on as an extra measure. When re-assembling I snugged up the end play to about 1/16th". The stiction hasn't been eliminated but definitely reduced.
