swapped pipes back to stock

stink is gone, completely

grr, does this mean the pipes were the problem?

I know others have neighbor haters but haven't heard of them complaining about the smell

I'd like to get my sound back -.D

The catalytic converters burn excess fuel in the exhaust that you can smell if they are gone. S&S make loud mufflers with converters in them.

thanks Hulks, I tried a few tunes, even leaning out to the point it was pinging hard

Do you reckon it was just the nature of the cobra slip ons that are giving the smell?

A bit worried to drop $$ on pipes that may result in the same smell

All I can say is that I've read many reports of gasoline smell in garages from exhaust after people remove catalytic converters from vehicles. You may still get some smell on start-up until the converters heat up and start working.
