Currently talking myself into the idea of a traditional style engine guard for my FXLRS. Prior to this Id always dug skinny bikes and with my Evo Lowrider set out to keep it slim but since seeing what people have done with the new LRS Im really liking the big bike/touring look.
Has anyone put an engine guard like this on? Would love to see some pics. I see a lot of the Bung-King stunting style bar but not so much the bigger ones.

I have a crash bar, even put some highway pegs on it, also have Harley soft lowers that fit on that crash bar. The crash bar is there on the wall next to the Sundowner seat and Leather Pros saddle bags.
My buddy’s low rider S was knocked over onto the right side from its kickstand. The bike has 13” risers.... the only damage was to the handlebar (slight bend but not bad enough to replace), damaged hand grip and throttle tube, scraped exhaust, and scraped foot peg.... that was basically it.... the car hit an outside eating barricade that was pushed into the bike.
my point is that the crash bar wouldn’t have changed much..... is I worth putting on and then screwing up the looks of the bike?
Yeah I hear you, I was in a wreck last year and the car that hit me side on hit about in line with my foot and a crash bar wouldve done very little to save the bike or my leg.
Its more just the looks, as I mentioned, Id always been into skinnier bikes but with the wider rear tire and overall fatter look of the Softail LRS I think the bike suits being made to look bigger almost Glide like. I really like some of the touring looks people are creating with the FXRT fairing, crash bars and hand guards.
However after seeing a few pics and the mention of getting feet hung up on them Im probably not going to fit one after all!

funny... I think our Low Rider S's look soo good looking simple and clean. That's why I bought the bike and I'm coming from superbikes and a Africa Twin.
Here is an interesting choice and its got the Clubstyle cool look to it. I've seen videos of a guy who installs them and then just drops the bike with no damage... dyna front crash bar crash cage highway peg 210 street bob low rider (bungking.com)
Good luck.
This is the narrow crash bar from FXR Division. I like it a lot as it looks like the old school style but is narrow and looks good on the FXLRS. I have had zero issues and I installed back in FEB.

Nice!! That looks awesome. I was just checking out their FXDP style bags and rail system too, super nice.
