I totally get not bothering on certain bolts, and Ill happily just go RFT occasionally. But these four are keeping the wife and I from sitting on the back tire so Id rather be sure.
Also things like top-clamp bolts or header studs I always torque as its so easy to shear them off and a huge PITA when it happens.
What sissy bar is that?? Ive been looking to replace my detachable one and yours looks great.

A bit old thread, but I recently had a bad adventure with those...
I needed to take off the fender, later when I was installing it back, I used blue loctite on them and torqued to the spec. Then later on then I was in a need to remove the fender once more, I failed to undo one of those screws... I ended up drilling it out. The rest went off very hard
I used 3/4 of the torque from spec on them after that and I'm still a bit scared to touch them
These are the ones that secure the rear supports/struts to the frame rather than the fender bolts, easier to grab a torque wrench than drill out a snapped bolt.
just saying..i am 6-1 roughly 255-260. i have never torqued this location. i have also never broke one or had an issue. if you install, tighten and snap one of these off...you really need to consider having the dealer perform your work. or pay some other professional.

Some LocTite and a reasonable amount of tightening the bolts will keep momma sitting right where she belongs. I mean hell, if you can't tighten a bolt to somewhere between hand tight and snapped off then maybe working on your own motorcycle just isn't for you.
