Yep mine sat ridiculously high on my old road king. I had to do some fabrication to get it to sit lower.

 

Wow, I was just thinking about this faring for my 2020 Deluxe. Holding off now.

I pulled the trigger on this fairing and have exactly the same problem ...
How are your brackets going ?

If I want to order some at American Laser, what name should I give to have the very same pieces made ?
I'm in France. Would you mind sharing your templates if American Laser isn't able to ship to me ?

I installed my new Reckless XE and it was tilted too far forward. I disassembled to remove mount brackets. Drilled new holes about an inch back for the upper bolts. So take was perfect but it sat too high up. Looked stupid. I cut slots about an inch and 3/4 so the fairing sits perfectly.
. It took a few hours of modifications to get it right

 

I was looking into the non-audio fairing for my Heritage. I don't like the
way they sit though (sitting straight up) The lady at Reckless told me if
I modified the brackets, it would void ANY warranty on the fairing.

The only one I've ever seen that sits right out of the box is the Woody's
fairing. He's gone now.

That Hoppe non audio fairing sits pretty good too, But BIG $$$$$$$
It can't be that much better than the others to justify the cost

I still want a Batwing, but I think I'll wait until I can get one that's
attached to an older Street Glide or Electra Glide.

 

For $400 this fairing is a great buy other than the mounts. I'm very happy with it. So no warranty? I'll take my chances

I purchased a slightly used XE about a month ago for my Heritage and finally got around to trying it out yesterday for about 90 miles. On my bike, I haven't yet decided if modifying the mounts is necessary. My hands/grips are right behind the two ends and there's not that much room between the head light and the fairing. So, I think the height is about right, but it may be sitting a little too far forward of the handlebars, so I may tinker with that a little. Other than that, I may also try some fiberglass work on the dashboard area. Then, after all that work, It'll be off to the painters to match my factory two-tone.

Oh, and I'm also considering purchasing a set of wind deflectors from Reckless. The updraft is more noticeable with the fairing than with my clear windshield.

If you're happy with the Reckless fairing the way it is that's great! Im a little embarrassed to say but my lowers are Amazon specials from a female in CA. $69.00. The hardware isn't very good but the fairings themselves are better than I expected to be. I also just replaced the rear shocks with Drag specialties hight adjustable standard springs and a Progressive monotube fork kit. This bike has never been so nimble with ride quality I couldn't be happier with. Yes there are better products but $275 in the rear and $400 up front this setup can't be beat. Please believe I'm not bragging, just passing along my experiences
