Forward Controls on FXST

Forward Controls on FXST
Has anyone put on the Harley forward controls on their FXST? Some of the reviews on Harley site say that the plug for the primary cover hole where the shifter goes through doesn’t fit. I was wondering if that’s true and if so what was your solution. Thank you!

It fit fine on my FXLR. Don't know why there would be a difference.

It fits fine. When I first put it in the primary, I just pushed it in with my thumbs. Stood at my bench a minute later and something shot across the garage 
, turned out to be the primary plug. Pushed it back in then gave it a sharp tap with a rubber tipped mallet to seat it. It's been fine ever since.
