so basically i bought my fat bob 114 this tuesday and rode it home for about 800kms. bike was not being used in the last months and it was kind of hard to get it to start, but nopthing more than that.
today i tried to start the bike but it didnt work at all, all i got is a buzzing sound which i never heard before on any bike. i charged the battery for a few hours and it says 12.7v on the multimeter, still not cranking up.
heres a video, its hard to describe the sound:
i know i should take it to a mechanic but that can only happen on monday and i was planning on riding the crap out of it this weekend.
am i missing a solution or it just needs a new battery?

Maybe something isn't right with the starter? That is an odd sound. Sounds like the starter is not engaging.

Yep sounds like the starter solenoid chattering. Not enough voltage from a bad battery is my guess, easy fix, get a new battery.
Check battery connections and grounds first.
it's not brand new, so i don't have the battery tender
i checked all the grounds and they all seem fine
tried to jump start with a car, made the same noise on the first attempt, but it worked on the second
guess i just gonna have to buy a new battery online and wait for a week or so for it to get here. ill update the thread when the problem is solved
The relay cycle so fast that the battery cant keep up. Look what happened when you crank it it went down rapidly to 10v. Long period of time battery not charged it can cause some damaged.
IT WAS THE BATTERY
my problem was with the weird noise it was making and the fact that i charged it over night and it still wasnt even close to cranking the starter, turns out my charger wasnt working properly as well
appreciate the help, guess ill be sticking around here since our brazilian hd forums have absolutely no info on the new softail models
