How do you know this; can you explain what is happening over what time frame?
I know because the vehicle in front of me (and most around here) pump regular through the same hose. What is happening, as I said, is some pinging in this high heat. Hopefully the computer is adjusting. I would love to get 93 octane and premium brands, IF they existed out here in the boonies!
To my original question, based on replies here no one is using additives so for now I will monitor.
Rare to find non-ethanol fuel in the UK. Never had a problem. Ethanol actually raises the octane rating, which is why if you removed the ethanol, you'd have to put an octane booster in. If the bike continues to do this, I'd say you need to look into it, but I wouldn't assume fuel. Is the bike stock pipes / AC?
Normally the fuel from the previous vehicle would be 1/2 liter or about 1/8 US Gallon or less. It shouldn't have any bearing on your pinging.
You don't say where you live. Maybe see if anyone else is using premium from that station and has a problem, could just be a crappy station.
Anything been done to your motorcycle? It may need a tune whether modded or not.
P.S. Try getting some gas cans with premium from another source to run for a while, use a small can to dump the first bit of fuel from the hose into and try that if you can't find another source.
Agreed its a non issue but it has your ear.... 3 questions - are you using a junk brand? Are you at the same station? Did you fill up somewhere else? If you used different gas from different stations and its premium, dont worry about it. If you go to the same station every time, switch..
