does it hurt if you put too much in your gas?

How much do you mean by "too much"?
I've put 1/2 bottle in my tank (with a full tank) and no ill effects come spring.

I guess at some tipping point your fuel would lose some burn capability, but a can in the tank should not harm it at all.

i use it in my outboard with no problems but have u ever read the back its only good for a few months after being opened so i guess i need to get some sta-bil for my sta-bil haha

keep in mind stabil is a cleaner and will losen up stuff from the tank. Read that here somewhere.

i use stabil .i go from the directions on bottle.i put it back in after a ride in the late falll early winter because wont know when ill get a chance to run it again.but i notice no differnce in the running of it

the stabil will float to the top of gas, seafom mixes is why i like it, test it in a glass. just my opinion tho.
