Default Solo seat.

Here is a simple question, but I don't want to screw up. I've gone to a solo seat on my Heritage, how easy does the plastic protector on the fender come off?

I removed the one on my 2019 Heritage. It's not the easiest thing I've done; a hair dryer and patience are your friend. After the plastic is gone you will have a glue residue that Goo Gone will take off

What he said is a good answer. Just make sure with the hair dryer or heat gun dont concentrate the heat in one spot for long or you will not like what happens to your paint.

WD40 works good to get the glue off

Yep heat will get it off. If a sunny day is an option put your bike outside so the vinyl/glue already has a head start on some heat. If you use a real heat gun just be careful holding it still. Keep it moving and you'll never have a problem. Your wife's hair dryer won't be as effective but will certainly work. Goo-Gone post vinyl removal and you're done.

Or leave it on for protection and add a rear fender bib?

But yes a hair dryer is probably the easiest. Then a little WD40 to remove any leftover adhesive residue.

I waited almost two years to remove mine and it was a horrible job to remove it. The plastic came off fairly easily but it took half a day to remove the adhesive residue, then a bunch of polishing to remove the scratches I made in the fender digging at the adhesive with my fingernails.

Good luck.

It was worth it though.

Uncle G. Yup I'm thinking that the longer I wait the harder it will be. This is a new 2021.

As Bronxbill said, goo gone works well in removing any sticky stuff.

PIA is what it is, the heatgun/hair dryer/Goo Gone, and a lot of muscle posted above is the way to go.
