True. I know everyone wants to save $$ - including me. I just had mine redone from 10" (+/-) drag bars to 13" Carlini meathooks (with 2" HD riser). This was done at the dealership prior to delivery to me. They honestly didn't know what cables could be re-used until they got into it. Depends on the bars and the routing. I did choose fatter bars because 1) they look better and 2) cable routing inside is easier.
In my situation, I needed one new one but could re-use the other. I forget which was which. My point is I let them decide and just do it. It's just easier that way.
I appreciate the input. Im going to call tomorrow when they open and see if they can just order everything needed.

To clarify, I was not going from stock bars to the meathooks, There were tall drag bars, so they were probably already extended or at their limit. And to be fair, I made my purchase in February, so if they had to make multiple orders to get the work done, I was not in any hurry.
Shoot, I have had the bike now for a month, made two payments and have only ridden once for 10 miles! **Heavy sigh** My wife busts my ***** every day "Are you ever gonna ride that thing or are we just going to keep making payments?"
