Looking into a Heritage 2022, but the models are all over the place imo. I would go for a black, but a bit unsure about going for the chrome or blacked out version. Will take the laced wheels with white walls for sure. Kinda like the chrome, but sometimes it feels a bit 'too much'. On the other hand, the blacked out is quite a bit more expensive over here and I somehow think HD got a bit overboard there too. The 2021 had some nice small chrome touches (windscreen, pipes), now it's extremely blacked out.
Yeah that's true. My current FXLRS is all blacked out, so maybe it would be a nice change in looks to go with the chrome version. Only thing I don't like about the black/chrome heritage is the side panels in chrome but I guess I can easily swap these out. But apart from that, I kinda like the look of the chrome more especially with the see-through windshield and chrome pipes. This combined with white walls shoud make for a pretty cool looking classic bike right?
When I bought my Heritage black was the only option. I was okay with it because my previous bike was chrome with wide whitewalls and the difference was nice. It also seems to need less care. I used to wash, wax and detail the FLSTN at least once a month. My 19 Heritage might get washed twice a year.
Personally, I think the chrome version has too much chrome and the black has too much black. Id like something in between.

What do you guys think? Chrome of blacked out?
When I was at Bruce Rossmeyer's HD during Bike Week, a staff salesman stated that blacked out is more expensive that chromed. I was quite surprised at this, but I guess it's true.
Thanks for the input, more and more leaning towards the chrome indeed. Will definitely go with the laced wheels, not a fan of those black ones. It's still a toss-up between a Heritage and Fatboy btw. I know the Heritage is more practical and probably more comfortable, but the Fatboy is still a looker to me and has (more or less) same seating position which is the main issue I have with my LRS.

Laced wheels definitely look better on the Heritage. We travel on our bikes extensively throughout the western US, and if she were to get a flat on her Heritage I can plug it and be on the way. With laced wheels we'd wait for who knows how long for a wrecker to tow it somewhere. Function over form, but I do wish they were chrome instead of black.
