Default Replacing cables when swapping out bars and risers?

For those of you who've swapped out their stock risers and bars, how did you determine if you needed to also replace the existing cables with new cables and if so the appropriate length? Is there an easy way or vendor that provide replacement cables in kits?

I'm looking to replace my stock 2020 FXLRS bars with the KRAUS 10" Pullback risers and Fly Moto bars.

You don't need to replace just get the extender kits available, They come in various lengths 4", 8" 12" etc.

That's awesome!!! Any chance you have an idea where to start looking ... if not, no worries, I'll do a little research.

Revzilla, LA Choppers, Dennis Kirk, or most anyone will have them. You need to see if you can use your stock clutch and brake lines though or if you need to replace those.
Others who have done this will chime in shortly for some pics and better info. lol

Thanks, makes total sense. The pullback risers and bars are 12.5" in total, so I'm thinking I will definitely need to new brake lines and clutch cables.

I’m in the process of installing risers on my ‘20 FLHCS. I bought the risers first and I have them roughed in so I could figure out what wire extensions, clutch and brake lines I might or might not need. As it turns out, I needed all of them.

I have the upper brake line, adapter and two of the three wire extensions I need, but I’m still waiting on the upper clutch cable and one wire extension, which won’t be shipped until 6-14 and 5-24, respectively.

Here is a thread that might get you started on figuring out what you might need.

galvtexguy, I used the Custom Dynamics 4" wire extenders for my risers. They only shipped 2 extenders. The third wire I made work, since I only used 4" risers, but wonder why I got only two. where are you buying the third extender?

Yeah, I realized I didn’t need the other cable, so I canceled the order. Risers are installed now. Waiting on upper clutch cable.

Is the upper clutch cable all you needed to finish your riser install?
