Default Issues with downshifting

The bike is a 2022 Lowrider ST. bike only has 420 miles on it. This issue started on my commute home yesterday and happened quite a few times on my ride today. When I would go to downshift to second and again to first the shifter arm would be all the way down like it was bottomed out in first. The first time it happened I thought I was in first and just had lost track of what gear I was in, then I ended up lugging the engine for a second due to it. Today, it kept doing it and I'd have to lift the shift peg with my toe so I could complete the downshift. Any one have any thoughts?

I had the same trouble, I was unintentionally partially engaging the shift lever with my toe, anticipating the downshift. Now I make sure to keep my boot away from the shifter until I actually downshift. These new shift drums are super sensitive it seems.

This is a cross post, but thought this might be a more appropriate forum.

Brand new... 420 miles on it, take it back to the dealer and let the warranty take care of it.

I think some people want to to be able to discuss it with dealer. Plus not like dealer can get it in this Sunday.

Almost wondered about shifter pawl spring. But that would not be intermittent. But I have never had one fail

Indeed what I will do if it persists. I was curious if the hive mind had other ideas that I may be able to address today though.

Another member mentioned that as well. I'm wondering if it is user error and my boot is resting on the shifter arm or something like that. I don't think it is, I was paying pretty close attention to it yesterday once I noticed it happening. Either way, its ****ing annoying.

I'll try and go for another ride today and see if its user error, but I don't think it is.

The lowrider st has the shifter lever going through the primary.. Make sure that there is some axial play and that the shaft moves freely. If not enough axial play, as the primary gets hot, it can expand and cause the shaft to bind.
