Sorry took me a few to finish this up as I got distracted buying new parts for the 2013 Breakout I just got. Wife isn't to thrilled but it does bring me to an even half dozen in the garage now....LOL
Anyway got the forwards on no huge issues. I did reuse the stock mounting bolts to put the main brackets on and luckily there is a old Ace Hardware that has been in town for 50 years so they have a huge stock of o rings and nylon bushings. Picked those up and some new covers for the Primary, Cam and Trans and it I think it came out quite well.... Here's a couple of pics, still need to do the rocker covers.....
As soon as I got done she went and bought the Empire Contrast Cut Pegs and Shifter ****....
Hi Sarge, do you have the part number handy for the Gloss Black Primary cover and gasket that you installed on your softail standard? I checked fat bobs on Ronnies - - only wrinkle black/ chrome available. If you know the year / model too that would be great. I think the softail slim cover will work, but better safe than sorry.
Installed my EBay Knock off HD copy forward controls, for the money $210.00 AUD you really cant fault them, only time will tell if they last the distance.
Hi guys
I am also having a forwarder problem and have read all the information you shared.
So can anyone give me the OEM copy parts so I can order them directly?
I'm so tired of this foot switch.
This is the kit you want - it looks like it comes with everything you need, but the parts list included has all the HD part numbers just in case you are missing anything. The sizing for the brake pedal is slightly different from the OEM brake pedal, so if you want to swap out for a different style OEM pedal, you'll have to use the sleeve that comes with the chinese kit. If for some reason the parts list is not included - just post up here and I'll dig it up.
I suggest adjusting the clip for the brake pedal almost all the way back to get some decent height on the pedal. I ended up swapping out for a 2019 softail heritage brake pedal with better angles and rubber pad - love it. I'll post pictures up soon. Did any of you guys have trouble with the shift arm to bracket being loose? I've tried multiple combinations of nylon spaces and o-rings and I still can't get what I feel is an acceptable amount of play in the shift pedal. It's almost like the nylon sleeve that goes through the mounting bracket is the problem.

What i did with my knock off kit, was i took the parts# off the pamphlet they provide for the two O-rings and thick plastic washer that the oem forwards have and ordered them off ebay. The shifter then fit a lot more like it should.
This is the best I can get mine- I think if I add a thicker o- ring than what came with the kit and use a clamp to squeeze it all together so I can put the shift lever bolt in place I might be able to lessen the play a little.

The biggest problem with the knock-off kit, is it may look just like the genuine Harley kit, but it dont come close. Mine had a ton of shifter slop, so i figured id buy a used shifter lever from ebay cause the Harley lever is much beefier, it wouldnt fit on the knock-off shaft. Then i figured id buy the shifter shaft from ebay, only to find out that the shaft would'nt even fit through the bracket cause the Harley shaft is beefier than the knock-off shaft. But that lead me to buying a used bracket then all was peachy. But the 2 genuine O-rings and thick plastic washer will work in the knock-off kit.
