if it is any consolation, my newly installed HARLEY forward set, is not much tighter. it has a fair bit of slop., but nothing overly noticed till i read this.

that sucks, Id get it looked at or replaced. I got a new kit last year and my fit and tolerances are perfect.
It fits fine, doesn't rattle...but in reference to the video posted...it isn't much better. Not like it is solid and doesn't have play, it is a moving mechanic part.

Thank you. I think I can add a thicker o-ring and take more of the slop out. I was going to return it and apply the money to the OEM kit but it's on back order until May... May just keep it and get the OEM when available and sell my aftermarket kit.
so, i had the similar dealing with the back order...several dealers have been waiting since last summer _(july 22)
so, good luck with getting it. i finally started calling dealers in near by states or where i knew i had someone close....
finally found a set in stock in Kansas city,,,purchased, and had family go get and ship it to me
Yeah man nothing like the oem kit, but if you don't already know, your better off once you get the bolts removed from the frame. Take a tap and clean out the threads in the frame, the bolts went in tight at first from the threads being plugged up from old loctite, so i ran the tap and used fresh loctite.
Fortunately for me I travel 2 states for work, I always stop by the Harley dealers I pass by. The whole Harley backorder thing is crazy, had a friend last year that had the Rockford Fosgate audio system on order for 6 months from his dealer for a Low Rider ST. I was at the beach and stopped in at the dealer there and asked them if they heard anything about the audio system backorder and she said she just received 2 at her 2 dealerships. I bought one and contacted my buddy who was still waiting on his backorder and he was not too happy, still took him a few weeks to get his... Seems like they would fill purchased orders by customers before they fill dealer inventory. Guess they treat the dealers as if they were / are their customers as well.
i have had no issue with fasteners coming loose, everything gets at least blue loc tite...
but, now i have to address the slop in the shaft.
The part# for the 2 O-rings is 11191
The part# for the nylon washer is 6057
I got mine on ebay, which made the shifter lever fit like it should, one O-ring on the inner side of the bracket, and the other went between the nylon washer and bracket. The fittment between the knock-off kit shaft compared to the oem shaft could be due to copyright issues. In fact the foot peg clevis pin on the left bracket was too small for hole in the bracket, but the one on the right side bracket fit ok, so i had to drill out the hole in the left foot peg and use a 3/8s bolt in order to put my peg on.
Please let us know how those work! I just put my mids back on today because I bought some generic forwards on eBay, and they technically worked, but they made a ton of noise and shifting was a mess because the engineering wasn't quite right.
I probably bought the same cheap set on ebay. I replaced the nylon bushing on shifter shaft with brass an now it works great.
