Glad I came across this post.. I went to 16" bars on my 21 RGS and used the fatbaggers EZ handlebar installation kit which worked great. The problem was, after I adjusted the clutch cable, when I pulled in the lever the red piece would pop out and I'd lose my clutch. The only way to keep it from popping out was to wrap it with small wire. It's not failed me yet but I ordered a new upper clutch cable for piece of mind which was a over a month ago. I'm going to go with the EZ clutch adjuster setup, seems to take all the flimsy plastic out of the equation..
$tonecold is mailing me his upper cable. A BIG shout out to $tonecold, much appreciated!
I had already ordered this before his post. I'm going stash this in-case the pos coupler lets go again. If so this is going in. I can handle adjusting the cable myself. My bike has been down for a week already and I don't like it.

Replacing with the whole old school cable is the best solution.
Once again, a big Thanks @$tonecold for mailing me the upper cable.
I installed the upper cable, hopped on the bike, and went for a ride.
All was good in the world, for about 20 minutes... On my way back the bike started getting squirrelly. I pulled over and discovered the rear tire was FLAT... Like 0 psi, flat...
I put some slime into the tire and tried to fill it. It would not take any air...
I pulled the inner tube out. It had SPLIT!
Question: What brand inner tube do you guys typically go with? This one was a drag specialties...
This is a link to a vid of it:
It's not unknown for tubes to stick to the inside of the tyre carcass when they're being fitted, get damaged and let go later, literally "down the road". Dusting the tube or inside of the tyre with
before fitting will stop that happening. If you're stuck you can use your wife's scented talcum powder, but this may encourage a certain type of individual to want to ride pillion with you.
I just installed the EZ Clutch by FATBAGGERS yesterday. I struggled with disconnecting and connecting the two cables after watching a guy on youtube just compress the spring to get slack. I eventually did it correctly, removing the clutch lever to get plenty of slack. the divice is well made, and i'm not worried about another failure of that P.O.S. red thingy. COME ON HARLEY!!!!!!!

Mine was a tight fit too.
I never had a clip fail but trying to avoid any problems.

LOL - I'll give the talc a try. Maybe I can find bacon scented.... Ooohhh bacon....
