This is my first HD after a background in non-cruiser'ish adventure bikes and sports bikes so pardon my ignorance
This was my first long ride today of around 200 miles and what I realised is it looks like I need risers to shift the bar position up and back to add a bit of comfort. After 100 miles or so I started to get an ache across my shoulder blades, and the base of my back. This points to me leading forward. Still that is a lot further than I would get on any of my previous bikes without discomfort.
I am 6ft tall with the Saddlemen seat and fwd ctrls. Bars and risers are the originals that came with the bike. I'm thinking Biltwell 6" pull back risers as these should not require cable extensions or brake pipe changeout - I believe?
This can be time consuming like finding the right seat, plus $. Sit on your bike with it upright. Close your eyes, and put your arms in a position in front of you where they feel comfortable. Open your eyes and see where they are at. See what it may take to get you there, or close anyway. Do this with someone holding the bike upright or on the jack so your feet can be on the pegs / boards. Not fool proof, just give you an idea.

Cheers Bass Player - good shout. I will give that a go
The thing with the fxlrs is it puts you in an aggressive riding position that is great for about an hour. You then realize that your reaching for the bars, your knees are too high. Depending on your height. Tall boy seat set’s you back and up. risers bring the bars too you. I turned my 2020 into the most uncomfortable Harley I have owned into the most comfortable with mids. Dk custom highway pegs are the icing on the cake.

You are pretty much on the money bar the mids - fitted forwards on day 1. Tried mids on a demo and felt like my knees were under my chin. Fat Bob with forwards felt better in the control position stakes, but I didn't like the Bob.
Tried Bass Players suggestion earlier and the ideal is 2" pull back - but that would probably require higher risers than 6" (plus mucking about with the cabling and lines). Height wise 1.5-2" will be fine. So the 6" Murdock Biltwells look like a good starting point. Will get some on order and replace the riser bushing with poly while I'm at it.

lots of negativity about Polly mounts bringing on bad vibes in the bars. I run 5.5 drag pull back with La choppers 1 inch riser extensions with rubber stock bushings and no bad vibes. I considered forwarding the controls but the tall boy seat makes the mids perfect, with the taller shock I am very happy!
I put the 6 Murdoch pullbacks with poly bushings on my LRS. Very happy with it. No vibrations. Good position. Im 58 with short arms. I also have a sdc saddleman that seats me a little higher than stock.
