Default Parade mode ?

I read something about the new M8's having a feature called parade mode which shuts down one of the cylinders while in slow moving traffic to prevent the motor from overheating. Not sure if my 21 bob has this feature, but i dont have cruise control either, if that even matters. But is this a hidden feature i didnt know i had cause im not really sure how it works otherwise?

It's called EITMS.

Yes your Bob has this. You simply turn the bike on without starting it, and roll the throttle forward and hold it forward for a few seconds to toggle it on or off.
The Cruise Control light on the Dash will flash Green if you just enabled it. It will Flash Yellow if you have just disabled it.
Just so you can hear it, This video has a timestamp where you can hear the EITMS kick on on my bike.

(TimeStamp 2:56 you will hear it transition into EITMS mode.) So you don't get weirded out if this happens to your bike.
If this already happens to your bike after it's warm, That means you have EITMS already enabled.

I’ll have to read my manual to see if it is there.
however , it makes no difference as I would never ride an air cooled bike in a parade.

It turns off the moment you give it any throttle.
You can see that in my video as well.
When I go to give it a full throttle demo for the viewers, the EITMS kicks off and then you can hear it turn back on after a few seconds and the throttle is back at 0.
I turned it off for a while, decided I didn't dislike it and turned it back on.
It's a good intuitive little temp threshold indicator.

I disable mine, being told it's a feature to keep heat off passenger's legs. it kicks in above 80 degree ambient temp, and sounds awful and according to DK Customs, does nothing to cool the bike. I ride in Tampabay all summer at 95+ temps, have 80k miles, no overheating or hint thereof. if the engine overheats, a thermal switch will stop it. relax, and ride!

HD was shipping bikes with it on,,enabled. How ever with giving a reason HD now ships them with it disabled..
I have had it on a few of the Touring bikes but Never found it that big a deal and disabled it.
It came around in 2007 but then HD had to turn it on and off. 2008 they set it up so you could do it on your own.

Mine's enabled & hardly notice when it engages, with my bad ears/joints.
