Default Extended Warranty Plan (ESP) ?

Gotta ? about the "ESP" they push at the time you sign the dotted line, the 2021 bob i purchased back in November of 2021 was my very first new bike. I opted for the 3 yr ESP, and was under the assumption at the time an additional 3 years of coverage kicks in once the factory 2 years expires. But much to my chagrin, the 3 yr option ESP only carries an additional 1 year extended coverage with the factory 2 years, for a total of 3 years. I've been contemplating on opting out of the Harley ESP and shopping elsewhere for a better deal which will let me do what i want to my scoot. Im curious as to who got what for a better plan?

They’re pretty clear on how it runs concurrently with factory warranty and all it really is from what I know is full services for the period. The warranty doesn’t include servicing. The ESP does, you’re basically paying upfront for all the services during the period you buy an ESP? I was out of warranty just at two years, no problems and bike is at 31k + and runs good as ever.

Yeah, that sucks don't it? I didn't realize it until after I bought the 5-year and all I actual he got was three years. It runs out in August.

You are simple buying one year of insurance. Dicker them down.

It may save you if you're going to put 100k on it in 3 year. Like most, two years will have any bugs worked out and there will be no problems till the end of the bikes life.

Essentially, they got your money for nothing. Part of their game. Be sure to get the 1000 check up free thrown in. It's their game also. It's just the mothership covering their butts just in case they missed something on assembly.

Also, to groom their cash cows to keep coming in least you forget about them

it the same with auto e-warranties...all a money grab !

if you like the feeling, research your own X-service and purchase shortly before your factory warranty runs out.

like most, my dealer offers lifetime powertrain if the bike utilizes Harley or the aftermarket if purchased through and installed by my dealer.

ESP will sell you a plan, then won't cover your bike if you changed pipes or anything else.

I had the exact same experience both times I bought new HDs. The second time I got a little curious and I asked the finance woman if their three-year ESP kicked in NOW or AFTER the regular warranty ended.

She gave me a blank stare.

I stared back.

She walked away.

I swear that's exactly what happened. In any case, I knew then what the answer was. But it still took me talking to three different people before they finally admitted it started the day you buy the bike. It runs concurrent with the warranty you get with every new HD. So basically you're paying for a ONE-YEAR ESP. It's a rip-off.

Yeah man thanks for the response, me personally never really gave it much thought until i watched Matt Laidlaw's video explaining the warranty. But my 21 bob is only my second bike ive ever owned, and second new vehicle ive ever owned cause of buying used. Besides from watching to many videos of dudes beating the crap out of their bikes with burnouts, and wheelies, i went the new route this time.
