I am interested because it is supposed to offer quicker acceleration, especially in first gear, which is something I am always looking for. It also gets rid of the stock compensator. The slightly higher rpms wouldn't bother me.
I ran the andrews 30 tooth power pulley on my twin cam 103. I did it to build bottom torque as I was running the upper rpm cams s&s hp 103 cams . It is a great way to build lower torque. I did recalibrate my speedometer with a Dakota digital device. I have no plans to do it to my softail as I ride mostly highway. It is a great mode.
Dave, I have one on my 2019 FatBoy.
Great upgrade. It doesn't affect gears going into neutral. My bike goes in and out perfectly.
There is no tradeoff cruising. No difference whatsoever. I have no idea what Jackie Paper is referring (no disrespect) to on the uneven feedback from the engine. Whatever it is I don't have it.
I checked with four different well respected builders and all were Very Pro on my installing one.
I am running mine on a 114 with a Fuel Moto 128 engine build and love it. I did install and run it before I did the 128 build.
You should be pleased with it if you decide to install one.
Installed the evolution 30 tooth on on my 18 fat bob a few months ago, love it. 5th and 6th gear are usable now, havent noticed any downside, have a few thousand miles on it so far. You will notice quicker acceleration and throttle response. If you do it make sure you reset the tensioner, primary chain will be too tight otherwise.
