Needing some help figuring out what people are doing with their headlight on the Low Rider S. I have the Memphis Shades Road Warrior fairing and initially used the stock headlight.
Then two weeks ago I got a Rogue Rider Industries headlight with a Banks Performance bucket and wiring harness adapter. Had the dealership install it because I had a really hard time getting the fairing and headlight placement correct the first time with the stock headlight.
Well the mechanic came and got me and showed me the harness and bucket were kinda cheap. The harness wires were fairly loose and the headlight moved in the bucket even when tightened down all the way. He got everything working well but said he didnt think long term it would last.
I then got a Moons MC bucket, mounting block, wiring harness adapter, and headlight. I decided to just try another brand all together. Well long story short, yesterday the mechanic said hes pretty sure the harness and bucket are identical to the last one
Both times the mechanic said he would like to de-pin the connectors and get rid of the adapter but didnt have time. I also noticed the headlight is favoring the right side of the headlight cutout in the fairing.
So what has everyone else done with their headlight on the FXLRS? Im not happy with the outcome so far and will likely change it again.
Interesting. I have the moons set up with the bucket and adapter and its been solid for over 3 years.
All wiring should be tucked into the frame so unless you plan on disconnecting and reconnecting often(Ive done this at least 5 times), you should be okay.
The bucket finish is not the best, on the rim of the bucket there are some rub marks from my road warrior fairing but you cant see them because theyre on the bottom and the fairing covers it

Ive heard nothing but good things about Moons MC and everything seemed nice quality but the bucket and harness. The harness even ended up not working so I had to keep the Rogue Rider Industries harness which doesnt seem great either.
At this point, Id like to just have the headlight rewired to use the stock headlight connector. Then its a direct connection from the headlight to the bike. Ive been trying to find a stock connector because I dont wanna use the cheap one from the harness or ruin my stock headlight.
I just ordered the LP9 setup from CaliRaised Moto. I have used them extensively for lighting on my offroad truck and this light looks amazing, so I took the $900 hit and ordered the kit. I will let you all know how it works once it arrives.

Definitely report back with how it turns out. I debated on getting that kit. The only reason I ended up with something else was because I wanted a blacked out look. Interested to hear how the install goes. Do you have a fairing?

Well my expensive headlight journey continues. The moons headlight seemed fine until the brights wouldnt come on. I turned them on initially and then turned them off. When I tried to reactivate the brights, they wouldnt come back on. The indicator on my console showed they were on. They later began working again after 30 minutes or so. I dont know what the issue is but Im considering going back to stock for now.
Im definitely open to recommendations. Kinda stumped on what to do. Id prefer nothing silver or chrome but would likely settle for whatever worked well.
