I’ve seen other posts about other bars, but looking specifically for anyone/pics of a ‘18+ with Beach Bars.
I had a previous ‘18 Heritage which I ordered with the Hollywood bars (had them on my Slim and loved them) but since the geometry of the Heritage and the Slim are a touch different I found the reach to the Hollywoods were a touch too much on the Heritage and I eventually swapped back to the stock Tallboys.
With my current Heritage, I want to go back to a lower bar style (Tallboys are comfy, but I really don’t like the look of them… especially with the screen off - lil’ baby T-Rex arms!)
So, I’m after kinda the shape of the Hollywoods (without the cross-bar… never loved that) but closer to me… Beach bars seem to fit the bill, though most a bit too wide looking.
I’ve found a company in Oz (Barcraft) that make a black 1” beach bar that’s only 33” wide, so got my eye on that currently
Any shared experience or pics of Beach Bars on a M8 Heritage would be great.
I’m 5’7”, 30” inseam….for me they are extremely comfortable…had the same bars on my 09 Road King Classic… logged many miles with these bars…Wild One Chubby WO518 Road King II
Have been running HD narrow beach bars for some years now on my 18MY Deluxe and been very happy with them. I’m 5’9”, very comfortable complemented with a rider backrest.
Thanks for the advice, but on the Harley site they seem to only have 1-1/4" versions (which means new risers too) and the pullback is only very slightly different to the Hollywood bars I had on my previous one.
So far the Barcraft ones look to be the best choice for me - not too wide (85cm) and about 1/5" more pullback than the hollywoods and a straight swap
Went for a good long ride with my stock tall boy bars rolled towards me, putting my hands in a similar-ish position (if not angle) to beach bars
Its a no-go. After 30 mins or so I found my shoulders were rolling forward and giving me an ache between my shoulder blades
I stopped for a break and repositioned them and they instantly feel so much better and more comfortable
So, end result is I think I’m gonna have to stick with the stock bars.
Or I'm gonna have to try and find a real cheap second-hand set of bars to try at least for position. It's a lot of time and money to spend if it's not gonna be right
