Question 2023 Fat bob issue

hey

purchased a new fat bob in July and something seems to be wrong with it or at least I think so.
The red indicator light (that small red dot) on the display randomly lights up during rides. Most of the time when I'm riding above 3000 RPM or when I'm too sudden with gear changes. It disappears with engine restart then comes back again after a while. The bike randomly shuts down when the light is on and the bike is in neutral. Like yesterday the light came up after a few hundred meters, then I had to stop at a red light where I put the bike into neutral and the bike just died after a minuteor two (it was a long red light). The engine and display electronics, everything. I had to turn the kill switch off and on again, then start the engine. This happened a couple of times. When I took the bike for its first 1000 miles maintenance I told the mechanic about it. He said no error messages popped up and I guess he didnt look further.
Any idea what this could be?
Thanks in advance.

That little red light is your security light I believe not picking up you FOB signal. Try changing the battery in your FOB.

I see... Could this be the reason for the shutdowns in neutral? Like a security measure, not detecting the FOB so it shuts down?

That could be. Try a fresh battery. Super cheap to try and if it's not it at least it was an easy try to fix

Check your brake lights to see if they stay stuck on after using your front brake lever.
Sometimes the lever and switch are poorly matched, or the switch is faulty and wont depress the switch enough. When the bike detects its running at speed with the brakes stuck on, it throws an error code and lets you know via the security light.

Has anyone ever started a Harley, handed off the FOB to someone and have them drive away to see if your Harley quits? I sorta doubt that.

Maybe they have changed but all I have worked on is it interrupts the starter on that first start up. Now if it quits and doesn't see fob signal, it won't start. Won't crank either

PS. Peter, see your new here.

Welcome, hope you enjoy your ride here. And only as a suggestion, make your next new post over in the new member welcome area to say hello.

Thanks for the tips, sadly it wasn't the FOB. The brake lights are working fine I tested that earlier because someone suggested the same idea.
Today I took the bike to the local HD distributor, they said it might be loose wiring so I should stick around, won't take long... Well they did not call me back today so I guess it's something more serious.
I recorded a short video, this happened 4 times today. Each time the led indicator light popped up after a few kilometers and when I put the bike into neutral at a red light or at my destination, it completely died after ~40 seconds. Like this:

Jackie, thanks, will do.

ps
Regarding the FOB and distance, it just came to my mind I gave the bike to a friend for a short ride (the engine was already running when he hopped on) but forgot to give him the FOB. The bike didn't halt after losing the signal.

That's why I ask. I worked on a lot of friend's Harleys over the years as a hobby. Twice I had to hop in the truck to carry someone their FOB to them.

They would show up, we of course discussed what or how I fix something and they would drive off with the FOB in my pocket.

After the second time, I always tied it to a bar cable before any bike was left with me.

Do I see an indication of a stored code in your video?

Not sure what you mean by "stored code". I played the video on YT with 0,25x speed and didn't see any code pop up.
