Clutch cable blues
I’ve got a 2021 SoftailStandard and I can’t get it to neutral. I’ve adjusted the clutch at the derby and still I can’t get neutral. Is there anyone who’s had the same problem.?

I have this issue on my fat boy and sometimes I just have to turn the engine off to get it to go into neutral. Sometimes I can get it into neutral by shifting with my foot pointed inward. I don't know why this helps but it does.

What's the mileage on your bike? Sometimes it's just a matter of break in and it usually improves but I've heard a lot of horror stories of Harley's being notorious for finding neutral. Even my previous bikes (I used to ride KTMs) were all notorious for being hard to find neutral and one that was terrible for false neutrals but I've been fortunate enough to not encounter any of those issues. I'm also the type that when approaching a red light or a stop that I know I'm going to make I shift into neutral while I'm still rolling and that tends to make the shift into neutral easier compared to finding neutral when the bike is already at a stand still. When new my street bob was a little stiff to get into neutral at a stop and but after a few hundred KMs it loosened up nicely and now I can find it easily when rolling or at a stop. Also try getting into neutral from 2nd gear and see if your transmission prefers that. A friend of mine has a triumph that is like that.

I have a 2021 Sport Glide that had a problem finding nuetral. Saw a YouTube video of the self adjusting cable a what to do. When the locking clip is pulled and one does the self adjust one then grabs the cable by hand and pull it a little tighter before putting the locking clip back in. This made my Sport Glide find nuetral even on a cold engine.
