I should have posted pre-bourbon.
“Fork mount wind deflectors ‘24 HYDRA-GLIDE. Does anyone know the Harley Davidson part number? All I find are for touring. Thanks!”
Harley has never, as far as I know, come out with them for the 2018 & later Softails. I bought a pair for the '17's and earlier and drilled a new hole below the bottom-most hole they came with, then slotted it out. I'm picking up the almost-new Hydra Glide I just traded for tomorrow, and kept the deflectors from the '23 Heritage I modded, so about to find out if they will fit the HydraGl or not. I think they work way better than the JES ones, my opinion. The only caveat is they will bump lightly up against the standard Engine Guard at full fork lock, but the only time I ever experienced that was backing out of the garage or a parking space; don't think it would ever happen when turning while riding.
I can maybe attach a pic or two after I - hopefully - get them mounted on the Hy Gl in a day or two.
OK, here's a couple of pics with the H-D "fangs" on the Hydra Glide. You do have to drill a new hole a bit further lower to make them work, then slot the new hole out to pretty much match the slotted hole already there. I think I need to add a spacer washer or two to the top mount, as you can see in the pics they do not quite line up evenly vertically with the forks, although I may just leave them as is.
There is one caveat/issue if you have the standard H-D Engine Guard installed, and that is the "fangs" will contact the Engine Guard at full fork lock, but just barely, and I've found the only time that ever happens for me is when backing the bike out of the garage or a parking space. Don't think it's ever going to happen, for me at least, while making a turn while riding; now, if you are able to make a tight turn all the way to the fork stop, then you'd hit the Engine Guard, but how many of us are ever going to do that? Maybe if you are a former Police Motor Officer!
Very nice machine, my best friend has just bought one and it is just extraordinary.
You should have mounted the deflectors under the windshield mountings as close as possible to the fork, on the one hand I find it more aesthetic and on the other hand you would no longer have any problem at full fork lock...
