So since I had my 23 LRST, every now and then, my display wierds out... Cut to the chase... I found if I start the bike and just go, before the screen/computer is done starting up the display will freeze with everything illuminated. All I have to do is stop. Zero speed fixes it. I've just thought it's a speed sensor thing... Like sensors not agreeing if the bike is stopped or going. We'll bottom line is it isn't that big of a deal.
So today, I take my bike to dealership for them to replace neutral safety switch. They get done call me up... OK we replaced, but then your bike froze and the left side switches didn't work. Has that happened before? Well you tell me, you don't know what that is? So I can't confirm I ever tried switches and didn't know they stopped working. But just stop all good. And the big point is... Don't go before the bike is finished starting up and it never happens.
Well, I just never bothered asking, but they have never seen it before. Have any of you guys seen it?
This has happened to me once and it was in the same scenario of I took off before the screen had time to "boot up" because I was in a rush running home on my lunch break to grab something. During the ride back to work the screen didn't register any speed/rpm etc and stayed frozen until I got to a red light where I was able to shut the bike down with the kill switch and restart but giving it time to fully boot up and then begin riding. It's only happened that one time and I just attributed it to that. Every other time I fire the bike up, let it run and warm up while I'm putting on my helmet and gloves giving the screen plenty of time to get itself sorted.
