If you’re married, ditch the spouse. Instant weight reduction.

Prepping for a colonoscopy, nah heading to the track tomorrow.

Sub 630 is a good goal, haven’t weighed my LRS but have exhaust and a Fatbob rear. It would be super cool to be at <600 but man that’s a lot and carbon fiber ain’t cheap. It does help being small to start with, I’ve only got 30 pounds on Fran.

Need to weigh the LRS, one thing that stands out when swapping bikes is the front end feels weighty on the LRS compared to the Dyna. Might be me but it just feels heavier during the initial 10 miles.

600 pounds is what the fxr weighs in at. Was and is probably the best big twin Harley hot rod to build. If you want to get serious about loosing weight sell your Harley and buy the buell super cruiser.
fxrt mini fairing- hard bags and a thunder header. Not a fan of the fxrt mini fairing but on the super cruiser I think it’s going to look bad -a$$.

I admire the weight loss goal.
From above 30 lbs off the bike seems "do-able"
Yet then there is the budget.

Weight loss could get expensive.
Getting a 600 pound Harley down to a competitive 400 pounds, again I love that goal.
But is there 200 lbs in the chassis to reduce? I don't think so.

FWIW For a true performance and seat of the pants feeling, in addition to the projects mentioned by
our co-members, I'd focus on un-sprung weight... tires, rims, rotors, axles, calipers, hubs.

I guess I would ask what is the weight of "King of the Baggers" racing motorcycles?

Have fun with your project

Lots of great ideas. Neither my budget nor goals for this are big here but others may be different. My bike is 700 pounds. If I could over time just drop 30 to 50 pounds it would be big in every matrix.

When we talk about weight loss it’s to perform better, be faster, brake better, handle better. As mentioned un-sprung weight is far more important. Let’s not forget other tricks… good maintenance. Frictional loses. Is your primary chains and belt truly lined up? Have you serviced your wheel barrings? Are your brakes lined up and adjusted. Are your cables lubed? Are your wheels balanced. Spokes true?
