Torx fasteners have more wrenching surface than allen fasteners, but they are not forgiving if you do not have the bit straight into the fastener.

You just need to use a quality wrench of the correct size and keep it straight.

I always use a long extension with a Torx socket, it makes it easier to keep the bit straight in the fastener.

Torx are way better. More area for bit to grab. An Allen is almost a circle.

Torx get bad name from guys using t25s.

Getting vice grip on it is my. First choice. Maybe notch and try spinning with hammer chisel/screwdriver. But you risk losing meat if you need to ez out

Ez outs don't excite me

I would try these sets, although I don't know the size of the torx button head bolts, the shop more likely uses a tool like these to break them loose. Check the torx size and see if the sets have the size. A torx bit turning, right or left hand direction relies on the bit locking into the bolt, but can slip which then cause them to round out which makes it harder. But with down force and right or left hand direction keeps the bit in the bolt and turns it at the same time, the shock of the strike of the tool also helps break loose the loctite.

If all else fails I have always had good outcomes by drilling down the center of the bolt. Carefully to avoid the threads. Once it is out clean with chlorinated brake cleaner. Then run a thread chaser. Dont break the bit and don’t brake an easy out in there.

Put some JB weld in the stripped area and then put your allen in there and let it dry over night. Next day remove the bolt and use a cut off wheel to cut off the small area with the JB weld and allen.

Chlorinated Brake Fluid? ... I think you misspoke ... I do not use Chlorinated Brake cleaner anymore ... Minimal benefits over Non-Chlorinated Brake Cleaner

Or get someone to weld a nut to the top of the bolt. Spin it out with a socket .

Funny I think just the opposite. I think the problem a lot of people have is using the wrong size torx bit, have never stripped a torx head.
