Does the Tender go through the ECM? I'm not expert on electrical diagrams so I can be convinced of being wrong. The Battery Tender is in the upper right of the snippet below. It appears that power comes from the battery, through the starter, through the tender fuse (7.5A). The circuit goes to ground at GND 2. The ground line that disappears off my screenshot goes to the Neutral Switch. I have a DIY heated jacket I made several years ago. I can't recall exactly how much amperage it draws but less than 5 I think. Gerbings provides several different size fuses in their battery connector depending on how many heated items you connect. Goes up to 20. The wires in their connector are probably a bit heavier than the tender. But, for a jacket and maybe gloves, it's probably ok.

You are correct. I was ignorant and repeated what I was told as I have not looked at the wiring diagram on my 2019 bike. I have always run direct to battery for my heated clothing.
