I looked at the Topdon site write up in the forums today. The documents in the links were rather uninformative as to what it can actually do.
The OBDStar site has a little more info on what it can do although it doesn't go int great detail. It at least appears to be able to assign new key fobs and set things related to passing lights and such. Whether or not it can set them to be on when your high beams are on, on an '18 Heritage Classic is unknown.
The guy at the stealership says it can only be done with a wiring mod but I think he was possibly full of it trying to "upcharge" me.
I noted that the Topdon unit has many functions that turn off when you have an expired subscription. The impression I got of the OBDStar unit was that even if your subscription expires, your existing functionality remains, just no new updates until you subscribe again. Maybe someone with the OBDStar can validate that.
I just used the OBDSTAR to do the following: 1) set the rear lighting configuration to "turn signals" instead of "brake only" 2) Turn on Chassis Cooling Fan Loop 3) Change the AUX light switch to the dash button 4) Enable lighting feature for Police bikes 5) Changed PIN for bike
Other settings I saw were, Side stand switch, ABS, Key Fob, DTC read, and more. I did not see any Audio/Radio functionality but this was my first time using it so it could be buried somewhere else in the menus.
