Diagnostic and ABS flush tool which works
I spent a lot of time trying to find a software and device which support ABS flush which cost reasonable and can cover everything I need and I want to confirm that Launch X431 can do this and many more (diagnostics, partially programming etc).
Successfully flushed brakes today after front brake line replacement, with ABS pumps activation and all the things (Street Bob, as I see it has support for touring too. If you somewhere north Florida and want to try - drop me a message, maybe we can meet and try it). All the process is guided.
Will not post any links, they are for sale everywhere, but it is possible to find it below $500 for a new device. Harley support is optional and can be bought (same as other brands like BMW or Indian), but quick search over internet will help you to find it much cheaper then in the store. No VIN limits, nothing stupid.
As a bonus - that is a prof grade car diagnostic and programming tool with FCA support, so for me it is a double shot (I have a Jeep with a security gateway which this tool can unlock).

The thing is that scanner by itself is 3 component thing - software, VCI and tablet. All those things are almost independent. The most important thing here is VCI (the block which connects to the vehicle port).
I personally got LAUNCH X431 CRP919XBT Elite from Amazon, $428 right now. It comes with DBStar VII wireless VCI. But Harley software will work with basically any Launch with a store inside which has an Android tablet (Any x431 which is now for sale as I understand). And almost any modern VCI will work (all DBStart series for example).
There is kind a 3 groups of possibilities:
1. Just get a new scanner, go to it's built-in store right on the scanner and buy a Harley software inside ($4.5 a month as I remember). The most expensive way, but anyway total below $500 and simple. Works just out of the box (HD software version 10.25 works 100%, I tested it). Software for each brand is a separate program inside a scanner, so they all updating regularly.
2. Buy VCI without tablet (Launch or EasyDiag) somewhere (Amazon, AliExpress, some other sites), buy Android tablet (basically any) and find sofware for it. Launch software is (almost) the same as an EasyDiag and if you have EasyDiag VCI (and some others similar), or any Lanuch VCI (the scanning module, not the tablet), you can search a bit of internet with for those line - "FLASH & APK FILES LAUNCH THINKDIAG XDIAG DIAGZONE PRODIAG XPRO5 ADS - UPDATED & FREE" and will reach a forum where you can get almost everything for free (if you understand how Android works) and also some resources which will provide everything for you with instruction what to buy and what to do for a small fee.
3. Buy scanner (VCI with Tablet) on Amazon, find software in internet, install software right to the scanner and get everything unlocked without additional purchases in the store.
But if you don't want to dig into it too much and $5/m is not a big deal - just follow the first way.

I'm a little skeptical, but only a little.
I happen to have a Topdon Topscan lite for my cars at home, and it works well, but not perfectly. It is powerful, but it is not all powerful. It does let me test transmission valves and such on several cars, but it doesn't let me cycle ABS, or reset idle speeds and such. Now this could be a limitation of it being the lite version. I will say Topdon has been responsive to problems for me, and has done what they said they would do (They were confused by Saab cars, and thought the 93 wasn't a model, but was a year marker for the 900 models). They fixed that and I can indeed use it on my Saab. They also do make pretty frequent updates.
The article above kinda waffles back and forth on their being one type, or two types. Seems to imply, but not explicitly state, that the lite version for the Harley will cycle the ABS module. The unit appears to be identical to the automotive one. Should Topdon put together a single user one for everything, with a somewhat affordable annual license, that could be really nice, IMO.
If anyone has used the Topdon on their bike, I'd be curious about what you find.
Although the way the OP puts it, it doesn't matter as long as it contains the correct VCI interface or has the ability to purchase a VCI. It would be nice not to have to pay a subscription and have everything pre-loaded.
