Trying to buy one on line I went to Surdyke, where I've bought things in the past.
I get this when I try to buy it
"We are so sorry, due to Harley-Davidson corporate policy we can no longer sell or ship Genuine Harley-Davidson Parts and Accessories
to customers outside our approved dealer territory. Please remove those parts from your cart to check out.
94001289 This item can only be sold to customers in our dealer territory. MANUAL,SVCE,SOFTAIL,ENGLISH $142.48"
I guess they were makin too much money and the moco wasnt getting their cut?
WTF
None of the dealerships in my area have on-line sales like that. I guess I have to actually go to the dealership service dept in person, order the thing, and then go back again later to pick it up.
thats annoying...
Harley stopped online sales several years ago.
Save a trip. Call the dealer and have them order it. Then, pick it up.

Last time I bought parts on line was prolly 2010 or 2011, so its been a while.
Whats the reason?
If you buy your oil filter in person at the dealership they have a chance to try and push you into buying a new bike,
which they cant do if you're ordering the filter on line?

That and I suppose a lot of dealers were complaining that the handful of dealers with an online OEM sales presence were robbing them of parts sales. Additionally, I think the new CEO at the time had a lot to do with it, too.
Unless theyve been stopped, when I emailed them in April, Ronnies told me they were still selling OEM parts online. If they are, you can probably get a service manual from them.
