Default Added some apes

Not super high. I had 16" apes on my previous Fat Boy. I was also 16 years younger when I got that.

These are 10". Took a couple days to do the job as I kept running into various issues

Adapt and overcome.

The opening in the bars for the wires on the throttle side was basically in the wrong place and the controls wouldn't slide onto the bars far enough. Thanks Khromewerks! Says it works for 2025 Fat Boy, but it should have said it almost
works.

I had to take a carbide burr chucked in my hefty dewalt hand drill and grind the opening an additional almost 3/4" toward the weld where the 1" joins the 1.25", then buff the edge with a dremel so the sharp edge
where I had ground away the steel wouldnt saw through the wires.

Got past that hurdle, and and a couple others (less annoying) and managed to finish up the job.

The kit I got from cablekits.com worked out well, although I may replace the upper brake line anyway. Its a bit thicker and less flexible than the OEM cable and the routing
isnt all I would like. It just doesnt really sit where I want it. Looks OK, but not great.

Anyway, I'm really happy with the bars, in both looks and comfort. Took a good ride today after I wrapped up the work.

Side note, I really hate brake fluid.

Another side note, with all the work Ive done on this bike since I got it, I'm WAY happy to be done

Are you really? I'm sure there must be something else you are considering doing.

There is. I am considering a 128" big bore kit

Next year

I just wanna enjoy the rest of this riding season and not have the bike in pieces all over my shop for a while
