Hoping so. Tried the easy one (speedo) first. No joy. Gonna try the one under the tank next. Those seem the only 2 that I touched that might cause this issue.
The rest were hand controls. signal lights, etc, and dont seem likely culprits, especially since they all work perfectly...
I know it's been awhile, but any updates? Exact same issue on my 2025 lowrider ST. No issues riding, and it doesn't always appear. Seems random, I check the codes after every ride and sometimes the P063000 code is there as a historical code.

Funny thing, I read this post this morning when I had my coffee, just curious what it was, then i took a 180 mile ride to a bikeevent i Stocholm and lo and behold the VINERR flasched once on the speedo on the way there, didn´t see it on the way home, sure hope it was a one time only. 1:st service within a couple of weeks. (2025 FXLRST)

Ya I searched a bunch of different forums and it seems its fairly common. 95% of riders probably don't check their codes and since this one doesn't cause a check engine light, or cause any issues, I'm sure alot of people have it and don't even know. Dealer thinks its a non issue and probably just some software BS. Personally, I think its a canbus glitch as these systems are super sensitive to voltage drops/changes and I feel like in my case, its triggered on cold starts with a junky factory battery. Planning on getting a better battery soon and I'll report back then. I'm just gonna monitor and ride on.

Yep, every time I´m starting this one and my -22 fatbob I had before you feel like you won the lottery because of how slow it turns on the starter

I feel you in that haha. The factory battery we get on our 117's is the same they sell you for a 97 dyna with an 81ci and 50hp. CCA are 270 Where if you buy a yuasa agm you'll get 310cca. I did this on my 09' night train and it was night and day as far as starting went. Plan on doing the same with the 25' lowrider ST

thank you, that´s a good advice, will do the same when that time comes on the LR, looking forward to the process of removing the battery :P

I haven't seen it on the speedo in quite a while, but I actually stopped trying to catch it. It shows so briefly its quite possible its happened again and I just missed it.
I do see the code from time to time when I check and clear it, but I havent checked that in a while either. Maybe its happier with the code
The bike runs awesome, so I just quit worrying about it
I get this occasionally on my 2013 Dyna, and it has very little computer stuff, no alarm, no key fob,no ABS. I was once told it is the ECM having a slight delay. Nothing to be concerned about.
Everything in your bike's electronics is tied to your VIN number. It sounds like something in your bikes electronic brain read (or misread) your VIN number and briefly reported a VIN Error.
