Yup, that's the idea.
I've been looking for a fender rack like the one in that pic. Where did you get that one, and the sissy bar?

i like my edward richie. I find it is pretty much 'quick detach' considering you just need to loosen the fender bolts to slide it off. I might order another custom one from him that isn't so tall and more purpose designed to strap bags onto it

I’m sorry but I can’t remember where I got them.

I posted the other day in another thread. But after reading a few more posts and that you mentioned you do not take passengers, I'll share here also. That kind of opens up a whole new way of looking at this.

My wife has a solo seat but occasionally we'll go on a long weekend where we each take an overnight bag because the full-size luggage that I would take (having a full seat and sissy bar setup) is just too much. So, I found this (see pic below). I purchased a detachable luggage rack for my wife. It is the Cobra 'Big *** Rack'. 13" x 19" wide. She wanted black but honestly it was like $100 more for black so I got chrome. It is removable just like the Harley sissy bar. So, if black vs. chrome is your deal breaker, just remove it when you arrive at your destination. Besides, no one sees under luggage anyway.

It is heavy duty and very well built. Hard to find on many websites since they always seem to be sold out. Black especially. I found mine new on eBay from a legit seller. Again, this would only be for smaller to medium size bags. Yes there is a weight restriction which is unreasonably low. Within reason you can exceed that. Trust me, it can hold more than what it is rated for.

NOTE: The docking points are NOT the same as the Harley sissy bar, so they are not interchangeable. Bottom line, you would need to decide. With two bikes in our stable, we're covered both ways.

Food for thought.

My own experience is that all HD stuff has fitted. Some items were multifit and came with odd parts I didn't need.

I have seen the odd post on aftermarket stuff that didn't fit hence the asking for help.

With a grinder, welder and drill anything can fit! With that said those items aren’t needed with Harley parts (these days, AMF cough).

Sorry for responding sooner. I remembered it was a Motherwell solo rack and I think their sissy bar.
